lotus contacts

I have the same problem whether it be with my Htc one X, Htc one X+ or the new htc one. I've tried on my wife's samsung and when she adds an unknown number she gets the option of saving to sim, phone, google or traveler. I get the same options but without traveler. It's extremely annoying as it's my primary source. I have tried unlinking but that doesn't help any. The google account is necessary in order to install updates and access the store so not installing is not an option.
